RIYADH – Apr. 18, 2017 – Arab Sea Information Systems Co. announced today it has migrated its policy enforcement solution for the seamless electronic exchange of purchase orders to Microsoft Azure.
Before migrating to Azure, faced the problems with availabity and security. Migrating to Azure benefits the company with enterprise-grade security and 99.9 percent uptime for our customers.
Azure helps make SMACC more reliable, efficient and decreases the load for different processes, including automatic database backup, database restoration and database migration from remote server to Azure Elastic pool.
SMACC integrates Azure Elastic pool to help safeguard and increase the performance and reliability of our Arab Sea’s databases.
“We have deployed the complete SMACC cloud environment on Microsoft Azure. Now our cloud structure is stronger and more secure. Our customers will be beneficiaries of this enhancement, as we have over 64,000 customers using the old version (SMACC 5) and will shift most of them to the new environment. SMACC is targeting SMEs. We wanted to secure a long-term platform to sustain company growth, as well as make our product available for customers who’d been historically resistant to buying the full SMACC system for in-house use. Migrating to Azure enables us to achieve both.” — Hesham M Al Sohibani, Product Manager, Arab Sea
SMACC was launched in 1988, with new versions featuring enhanced functionality released over the years. As one of the most popular and widely used systems in the Gulf Cooperation Council and Middle East and North Africa regions, SMACC is fully developed by Arab Sea and used by more than 64,000 companies and more than 400,000 user.
SMACC integrates Microsoft Azure Blob storage with blob container for renewal, database backup and database restoration. If customer wants to renew or upgrade their system, Arab Sea will run the Microsoft service.
